Specialised Intervention Procedures

Core and vacuum-assisted biopsies are ways for us to sample a piece of abnormal tissue to assess whether it is cancerous or not. The biopsy is sent to a pathologist for microscopic evaluation.

Biopsies are minimally invasive. They are done using a local anaesthetic, in the comfort of our practices. It takes 10 – 20 minutes. Biopsies can sound intimidating, but they’re safe, quick and give you clarity you can trust.

As a specialist breast practice, we offer both ultrasound-guided and stereotactic-guided biopsies, which means precision guidance for all our biopsies.
