Mammograms
(3d Tomosynthesis)
A mammogram is the most powerful tool for detecting breast cancer early – often before you notice any changes yourself.
A mammogram is an X-ray imaging technique that uses low doses of radiation to create pictures of the breast.
Annual mammograms allow us to track changes, catch problems early, and most importantly, give you peace of mind. We use state-of-the-art 3D mammography, and every image is read by specialist breast radiologists.

Our technology
Before your mammogram
- If you can, book for the week after your period – breasts are usually less tender then.
- Let us know if you have implants, symptoms, or a family history of breast cancer.
- Share the date of your last mammogram. They should be at least one year apart (unless your doctor advises otherwise).
- Bring prior mammograms with you if they were done elsewhere.
After your mammogram
- You’ll wait while a breast radiologist reviews your images.
- In most cases, an ultrasound is also performed after your mammogram. This provides additional detail and complements your mammogram results.
- Your results will be explained before you leave.
- You can return to your normal day straight away.
Does it hurt?
Most women feel pressure or mild discomfort, not pain. If your breasts are sensitive, let us know, and we’ll adjust where we can.
The bottom line
A mammogram is quick, safe, and one of the best ways to protect your breast health.
