Beyond imaging

Our commitment to your care goes far beyond the imaging assessment. We take a holistic, personalised approach to breast health — integrating advanced risk-assessment tools, multidisciplinary collaboration, and seamless access to further specialist care when needed.

Personalised Risk Assessment

Every woman’s breast cancer risk is different, and so should her screening plan be. We don’t believe in one-size-fits-all. We work with you to design a plan that matches your unique profile, not just your age.

Personalised screening tailors your check-ups to your individual factors: family history, breast density, genetics, lifestyle, past biopsies, and more. Instead of following a standard schedule, you’ll have a plan that’s made just for you.

By age 30

every woman

should know her personal breast cancer risk.

Why it matters

Some women need to start earlier, come in more often, or add extra imaging such as ultrasound or MRI. This approach helps us catch cancers sooner and reduces unnecessary procedures.

  • If you’re higher risk, screening may need to start in your 30s, sometimes as early as 25.
  • If you’re lower risk, knowing your profile early still helps you plan with confidence.

Your plan may include

  • Annual (or more frequent) mammograms
  • Extra imaging such as ultrasound or MRI
  • Ongoing risk assessments as your life and any health changes

Your next step

We can calculate your personal risk using trusted tools like the Tyrer–Cuzick model, and guide you towards the right screening schedule for you.

Our Multidisciplinary Team Approach:

We work side-by-side with some of Gauteng’s leading breast specialists – a group of leading breast surgeons, oncologists, pathologists, and radiologists who review every case together. Instead of one doctor’s opinion, you get a whole team of experts to make sure your care is accurate, efficient and personalised to you.

Research shows that this collaborative approach leads to more accurate diagnoses, better treatment plans, and improved outcomes. It means you can have confidence that your care is supported by many expert minds.

MRI review

An MRI is a special type of scan, that, instead of X-rays uses strong magnetic and radio waves. The images give detailed functional and anatomical details that are superior to mammograms and ultrasound.

If you need an MRI, we will refer you to one of our partner imaging practices. We review and report the scans ourselves for the continuity of your care.

One of our specialist radiologists might recommend that you have a breast MRI if you have:

A high personal risk of breast cancer

An abnormality on conventional imaging that needs further clarification, or

Already been diagnosed with breast cancer and requires more detailed imaging.

A breast MRI doesn’t replace mammograms, but for certain women, it’s an extra layer of reassurance.

If you’ve been advised you need a breast MRI, contact our team and we can discuss it further – please bring any scans along to your appointment.
